LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's
volleyball team pieced together its first winning streak of the
year, sweeping through Moravian College and Richard Stockton
University with a pair of 3-0 wins at Mayser Center on Saturday.
The wins were F&M's first victories out of conference
play this season, and leave the Diplomats riding a three-game
winning streak.
Erica Spangler put up a double-double with 10
kills and 12 digs to lead F&M in the 3-0 (5-20,27-25,25-13)
sweep of Moravian. Nicole Morano contributed nine
kills and four blocks to the effort, while Margot
Phelan added seven kills and 12 digs. Jessica
Poucel also aided the offense with seven kills.
The Diplomats got to 4-10 on the season with the 3-0
(25-22,25-19,25-13) win over Richard Stockton. Phelan was errorless
34 attack attempts, pacing the offense with 10 kills while adding
11 digs to the defensive effort. Lis Power powered
the defense, keeping F&M alive with 15 digs, while Pam
Horner fed the offense with 27 assists.
F&M returns to action on Wednesday when the Diplomats host
Gettysburg in a Centennial Conference match.
