WASHINGTON, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team
dropped four matches at the Holiday INNvitational, hosted by
Washington & Jefferson. F&M fell 3-1 to both Washington
& Jefferson and Capital on Saturday, and was swept 3-0 by
Carnegie Mellon and Muskingum on Sunday. F&M has opened the
2008 campaign with a record of 0-5.
Margot Phelan led the Diplomats in kills in each of the four
matches played, including an 18-kill effort against Capital. She
posted a double-double in that match, adding a team-high 14 digs.
She led the team in digs in three of the weekend's four matches.
Freshman, Katy May, led the defensive effort against Carnegie
Mellon with 15 digs.
Pam Horner set up the offense, leading F&M in assists in all
four matches. She set up 31 kills in the 3-1 loss to Capital.
The Diplomats open the Centennial Conference portion of their
slate Wednesday night at Washington College.
