ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Kelly McKeon registered 17 points, 11 rebounds
and six assists while Lauren Boyle scored a game-high 19 points to
lead Muhlenberg past Franklin & Marshall 64-51 in Centennial
Conference (CC) women's basketball action on Saturday.
The Mules (11-2, 8-0 CC) completed the season sweep of the
Diplomats (6-8, 4-4 CC) with a second-half comeback, holding a
43-29 scoring advantage in the final 20 minutes to collect their
conference-leading eighth win.
Three players were in double figures for F&M, including Cara
Landolfi with a team-high 15 points and nine rebounds. Allison
Bauer chipped in 12 points and Sarah Meisenberg ended with 10.
Megan Pauley beat her best performance in rebounds with a 15-board
effort.
After a 10-2 start by Muhlenberg, the Diplomats used a 20-7 for
a five-point lead with three minutes remaining in the first half.
At the 9:53 mark, Alexandra Chili drained a three-pointer to put
the Mules a head 15-6. Meisenberg made two free throws, while
Pauley, Landolfi and Amanda Miceli each made a layup to knot the
game at 15-all.
Landolfi's layup gave F&M its first lead at 17-15. Bauer hit
a triple to make it 22-17 and Muhlenberg caught back up for a
one-point game at halftime.
The Mules opened up the second half with a 12-4 to take a 33-28
lead at 14:40. Muhlenberg kept increasing its lead and hit
double-digits after a jumper from Chili at 44-34. Maiza Mock made
three from the line and McKeon recorded four points to close the
game with the Mules biggest margin, 64-51.
The Diplomats return to action on Thursday against Gettysburg.
