BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Megan Pauley and Cara Landolfi each scored 12
points to lead Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team past
Bryn Mawr 57-37 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday
night.
The Diplomats (9-8, 6-4 CC) shot 53.6 percent from the floor
(15-for-28) in the first half to take a commanding 34-16 lead and
never look back for their third straight win.
Pauley went 6-for-8 from the field to set a new season high,
while Sarah Meisenberg was the third person in double figures with
10 points.
The Owls (1-16, 0-12 CC) got a game-high 17 points from Emilie
Naccarato, who knocked down three triples and grabbed four
rebounds. Jessica Allen recorded a double-double with 12 points and
11 boards.
Pauely helped F&M take a 12-0 lead out of the game, scoring
eight of those points in the first 7:10 of the game. Naccarato got
Bryn Mawr on the board with a layup at 11:05.
The Diplomats kept their distance, going 5-for-6 over a
three-minute stretch with five different players scoring.
Meisenberg hit two from the line and then drove in for the layup
for a 29-13 lead with 1:57 remaining in the half.
Naccarato drained a triple, but Amanda Miceli made a jumper and
Beth Holt closed out the opening half with a three-pointer for a
34-16 lead at the break.
With the lead in the double digits, Miriam Marcis got her shot
to drop from behind the arc to give F&M a 22-point lead. The
Diplomats largest margin came off Landolfi's layup with 1:16 on the
clock to make it 57-34.
F&M held the Owls under 25 percent shooting and held a 47-30
advantage on the glass.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday at Swarthmore. Game
time is 1 p.m.
