BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Becky Willert and Dana Venditti scored two
goals each to lead Franklin & Marshall to an 8-0 victory over
Bryn Mawr Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) field
hockey action. The Diplomats (6-3, 2-3) dominated the game
holding a 50-0 shot advantage over the Owls (0-11, 0-6 CC).
Allison Bauer lit the scoreboard first for the Diplomats when
she took an Allison McLaren pass and found the back of the net at
12:55. Eileen O'Reilly and Bauer assisted on the next goal, setting
up Maura Hennigan for the score. Willert made it 3-0 when she fired
home an O'Reilly pass at 29:01.
Willert started the second period the same way she ended the
first, scoring off a Chelsea Ross pass at 36:35. F&M went up
5-0 when Jess Kane found Venditti for the score. The Diplomats went
on a four minute, three goal run 61 minutes into the game. Kane
started the run, followed by Venditti's second goal of the game.
Kristin Dublin ended the run at 65:15 with an unassisted goal.
F&M held a 24-1 advantage in penalty corners.
Sarah Dileo picks up her first win of year, playing all 70
minutes for the Diplomats. Elzabeth Toft stopped 26 shots in
absorbing the loss.
F&M returns to the field on October 10th when the
Diplomats host Ursinus.
