LANCASTER, Pa. - After back-to-back slow starts #6 Franklin
& Marshall came out with the big guns blazing with a 92-52
defeat over Juniata Saturday evening. Four players scored in
double figures for the Diplomats. F&M improves to 3-1 while the
Eagles fall to 3-2.
Georgio Milligan and James McNally led the way scoring 23 and 22
points respectively. Both have scored in double figures in
every game this season.
McNally tallied a double-double with 11 rebounds. He was
10-for-13 from the floor, 2-for-2 at the line, dished out four
assist and had two steals.
Milligan scored 23 points shooting 9-for-15 from the field and
3-for-5 from the stripe. He shot 2-for-2 from behind the arc.
Milligan became the fastest player in F&M history to reach 500
points, accomplishing the feat in 37 games.
Hayk Gyokchyan scored 15 off the bench. Gyokchyan was 6-for-9
from the floor, 2-for-2 from the line and chipped in a three. Steve
Tolliver chipped in 10 points.
The two teams went back and forth early in the first half until
F&M took the lead for good on a James McNally layup at 14:47.
The Diplomat entered halftime with a 21-point lead. Their first
halftime lead in two games.
The Diplomats out-rebounded the Eagles 41-32. F&M grabbed 11
offensive rebounds yielding 14 second-chance points.
Dan Sekulski led the Eagles with 13 points. Sekulski went
6-for-12 from the floor and added a free throw.
The Diplomats return to court November 30th when the
Diplomats host #20 St. Mary's (Md.). Game time is set for 7:30 pm.
