F&M's Last Game: In a struggle of two
top-ten teams matching goal for goal, Lidia Sanza's save from
point blank with 2:06 left proved decisive for Franklin &
Marshall. Sanza's tenth save of the game allowed the No. 3
Diplomats (6-0) to hang on for an 11-10 win over No. 9 Union
College (1-1).
Sanza had 11 stops in the game including a
routine save with 59 seconds left, but none were bigger then her
robbery of Liz Zamore. That preserved the lead provide by Jen
Pritchard's goal with 4:32 left to play. Pritchard's
second goal, assisted by Blake Hargest, gave the Diplomats an 11-9
lead.
McDaniel's Last Game: Brittany Bear
matched her career high with seven goals to lead McDaniel to a 15-8
victory over Ursinus in the Centennial Conference (CC)
women's lacrosse opener for both teams on Saturday. Jennifer
Stone tallied three of her four goals for the Green Terror (5-2,
1-0 CC) during a five-goal spurt over 11 minutes, 55 seconds in the
second half that turned a 6-5 advantage into a 10-5 lead with 14:59
to play.
Alyssa Thren and Kristen Wampole led the Bears (1-4, 0-1 CC)
with two goals apiece. Trailing 2-1 after Wampole found the back of
the net just 5:21 into the game, Kelly Scheler tallied unassisted
to knot the game with 16:48 showing. Stephanie Serbun finished a
Stephanie Sudbrook pass 1 minute, 38 seconds later to give McDaniel
the lead for good.
Last Year's Meeting: It was stingy
defense combined with scoring early and often that led No. 1
Franklin & Marshall to 23-2 routing of 19th-ranked McDaniel in
the Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse opener for both
teams. After jumping out to a 9-1 lead at halftime, the Diplomats
(3-0, 1-0 CC) scored 14 more in the second while holding the Green
Terror (4-1, 0-1 CC) to just one goal in each half for their first
conference win and second over a nationally-ranked opponent.
Shannon Summers led the scoring frenzy with five goals and four
assists for a game-high nine points. Jen Pritchard and Sarah
Meisenberg recorded six points apiece. Pritchard netted four goals
and dished out two assists and Meisenberg tallied the opposite (2g,
4a).

against Union was the 100th tally of her career…
Milestones in Sight: Jen Pritchard needs four
points to tie Maria Gaydos in career points. Gaydos wrapper her
career with 262… Pritchard is five goals away from
tying Lauren Petrella for the lead in career goals. Petrella scored
221 times in her F&M uniform… Shannon Summers
needs nine points to catch Lauren Paul's 242 career points
(8th all-time); She just passed Paul on the career assists list,
and is one away from tying Alexis O'Meara for the school
career assist record of 107… Blake Hargest needed seven
helpers to become the fourth Diplomat to reach the 100-assist
mark… Lidia Sanza is two saves away from becoming the
eighth F&M goalie to record 300 stops in her career…

Bevington registered her 100th career point on a goal against Bryn
Mawr last Saturday… Sarah Meisenberg registered her 200th
career point against Merrimack… Jen Pritchard registered her
250th point against Merrimack…
No Disrespect Coach: Shannon Summers passed her coach, Lauren Paul,
on the career assists list. Summers is sitting on 104 assists, and
needs three to tie Alexis O'Meara for the F&M career
record of 107. Summers is only the third Fummer to hit the
100-assist mark, joining O'Meara and Paul.
