COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – No. 3 Franklin & Marshall held a
14-5 lead at the half en route to a 19-8 Cenetnnial Conference (CC)
win at Ursinus on Saturday. Jen Pritchard led the charge with
four goals, resetting the Diplomats' (8-0, 3-0 CC) record for
career goals in the process.
Pritchard's third goal of the game moved her to 221 in her
career, tying her with Laurern Petrella '94. She completed
the hat trick with 17:29 left in the first half. Nine minutes
later, Pritchard owned the record outright, dumping in her 222nd
career goal, fed to her by the Diplomats' all-time assist
leader, Shannon Summers.
Summers registered four assists in the game. Pricthard moved into
sole possession of fourth place on the F&M career points list,
passing Maria Gaydos '88.
Four different Diplomats scored three or more goals in the game.
Summers added a hat trick to her four-assist afternoon to pace the
offense with seven points. Ashley Bevington scored four times,
including the game winning goal with 8:08 left in the first half.
Lussier scored three times and assisted on three more F&M
goals.
The Bears (1-7, 0-3 CC) were paced by Lindsay Urban and Alyssa
Thren who each netted a pair.
Franklin & Marshall played its fifth game in ten days on
Saturday. They will play their sixth game in 11 days tomorrow when
F&M hosts No. 1 Salisbury. That game gets underway in Lancaster
at 1:00 p.m.
