ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team picked up wins over Penn State-Abington and Gwynedd-Mercy and dropped a decision to the hosts at the Richard Stockton University Osprey Classic on Saturday. All three matches were sweeps.

The Diplomats (7-2) wins came in easy fashion. F&M downed PSU-Abington 25-3, 25-4, 25-10 and Gwynedd-Mercy 25-6, 25-11, 25-8. The loss 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 loss to Stockton saw the Diplomats squander six-point leads in each of the three games.

F&M used 30 aces to cruise past PSU-Abington in the day's opener. Candice Tussing served up a team-high nine, while Elise Gilchrist chipped in with seven more. Nicole Morano posted five of her 15 kills on the day in the first match. Sydney Seydel added four 13 Saturday kills on four attempts during the 3-0 sweep.

Seydel posted a team-high eight kills in the loss to Stockton. Tussing and Morano added seven apiece with Pam Horner setting up the finished attacks 30 times.

Heather Letzkus led the way with five kills in the win over Gwynedd-Mercy. Mariah Eble added four kills while Jessica Poucel and Morano added three each.

The Diplomats are idle until next Saturday when F&M hosts Scranton and Ursinus.
