Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. - Paced by Kerry Rom's 10-kill, 11-dig effort,
Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team made it four in a row
with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18) sweep of McDaniel in Centennial
Conference (CC) action on Wednesday. F&M has dropped just seven
games so far this season and have swept their opponents in nine of
its 10 wins this year.
The Diplomats' (10-2, 3-0 CC) first-year came up with timely
kills in delivering F&M's ninth win in its last ten matches.
Rom posted three kills down the stretch of the first game which was
knotted up as late as 19-19. The second game was tight as well.
F&M held 18-17 before a Rom kill stretched it to a two-point
game. Three straight Green Terror (7-5, 1-1 CC) attack errors put
F&M in the driver's seat. Nicole Morano and Jessica Poucel
ended the game with back-to-back kills that took the wind from the
host's sails.
Pam Horner opened the third game with back-to-back aces. She
finished the match with five, as did Candice Tussing. Several
Sydney Seydel kills midway through the third opened up the F&M
lead for good. Seydel finished the match with a total of five
kills. Horner recorded 22 assists. Jessica Poucel chipped in nine
kills for the Diplomats.
McDaniel's Taylor Hergott matched Rom with 10 kills while
Kristen Nuckles posted 16 assists for the Green Terror. Lanni
Reisinger posted three aces.
The Diplomats return to action on Friday evening at the
Susquehanna Invitational.
