GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Gettysburg's Lexie Hearn's two goals in the
first period proved too much as the #14 Bullets defeated Franklin
& Marshall 2-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey
action Wednesday afternoon. Gettysburg improved to 7-2 (2-1), while
the Diplomats fall to 5-3 (1-3 CC) on the season.
Hearn's first goal came at the 3:30 mark when she received a
Vanessa Pabon pass and fired it home. She struck again in the
19th minute, scoring her fourth goal of the year off a
Nicole Meredyth pass, putting the Bullets up 2-0.
After the quick start by Gettysburg, F&M controlled the
remainder of game firing off 15 shots while limiting the Bullets to
just two. The Diplomats held a 7-2 advantage in penalty corners.
Eileen O'Reilly led the way for F&M getting three shots on
goal. Hearn was the only Bullet to get a shot off, collecting two
in the contest.
Naomi Stone picks up the loss for F&M. Stone falls to 5-3 on
year. Gettysburg's Christina Anderson stopped seven shots improving
to 7-2.
The Diplomats return to action October 3rd when they
travel to Bryn Mawr.
