GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team
recorded its ninth straight win with a 3-0 sweep of Gettysburg in
Centennial Conference (CC) play on Wednesday. The 25-23, 25-17,
25-20 victory was F&M's first over Gettysburg since the 2006
season, as well as the Diplomats' first sweep of the Bullets since
Centennial play began in 1993.
Pam Horner set up a balanced offense posting a double-double of
31 assists and 12 digs to go along with a pair of aces and a block
assist. Candice Tussing recorded nine kills, three assists, a solo
block and a block assist. Katy May bailed F&M with nine digs,
while serving up four aces. Steph Armstrong served well all night
contributing three aces, while Lis Power chipped in with 9 digs and
a pair of aces. As a team, F&M posted 10 aces and 11
blocks on the night.
Gettysburg got six kills and eight digs from Stephanie
Rickabaugh. Virginia Hogan posted five kills, seven digs and a pair
of aces.
The winning streak is F&M's longest since the Diplomats won
nine straight in the 2007 season. F&M has not dropped a
single game in this winning streak or any of their last dozen wins.
F&M returns to action Friday night against Lebanon Valley in
the first match of the weekend's F&M Scramble. F&M will
face Stevenson and Cabrini on Saturday.
