CARLISLE, Pa. - Dickinson went on an 18-4 run midway through the second half to secure a 65-53 victory over Franklin & Marshall in a Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball game. Four players scored in double-figures for the Red Devils as they improved to 11-4 (7-4 CC). The Diplomats fell to 8-8 (4-7 CC).

Trailing 40-39 with 10:54 remaining in the game, Dickinson went their 18-4 run lasting almost nine minutes. The run gave the Red Devils a 57-44 lead with 1:58 left in the contest. F&M came within nine points twice in the final 30 seconds on shots by Beth Holt, but were unable to close the gap.

Both teams battled back and forth in the first half, resulting in seven ties and five lead changes.  The Diplomats jumped out to an early 10-4 lead as both team settled in. F&M held a 29-25 edge with 1:19 left in the first half, but Dickinson finished strong taking a 30-29 lead into halftime.

Beth Holt scored a game-high 18 points for the Diplomats. Holt shot 4-for-9 from behind the arc and 4-for-5 from the line. Amy Chabitnoy added 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting.

The Red Devils were led by Lindsay Finnerty's 15 points. Alesha Sisco and Brooke Muller added 14 points apiece and Carole Dempsey dropped in 11 for Dickinson.

The Diplomats held a 41-36 advantage on the glass with 18 coming on the offensive side. F&M scored 18 second-chance points to Dickinson's eight.

Franklin & Marshall continues its three-game road trip when the Diplomats travel to Haverford for a double-header on Saturday. The women tip-off at 1 p.m. followed by the men at 3 p.m.
