LANCASTER, Pa. – James McNally scored a
game-high 26 points to lead #13 Franklin & Marshall to a 58-44
victory over Haverford in Centennial Conference (CC) men's
basketball action. The Diplomats improved to 9-2 (3-1 CC) while the
Fords fell to 3-7 (1-3 CC).
Trailing at halftime 21-19, F&M answered
the bell in the second half going on a 17-2 run to start the
stanza. The run spanned over eight minutes and gave the Diplomats a
36-23 lead, which they never relinquished.
F&M built it's lead by 22 points with 8:21 remaining and
cruised to a 58-44 win.
McNally finished with a double-double, pulling
down 13 boards to go with his 26 points. He shot 7-for-13 from the
floor and 12-for-13 from the line. Kevin Henry scored eight points
off the bench while Mike Baker added seven points and four rebounds
for the Diplomats.
Bo Friddell scored 10 points and Sam Permutt
pulled down six rebounds for Haverford game-highs.
The Diplomats held a 42-32 advantage on the
boards and shot 83% from line.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on
Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Swarthmore for a
double-header. The women will tip-off at 1 p.m. followed by the men
at 3 p.m.
