Box Score BALTIMORE, MD - Carly Bianco scored both goals for Johns Hopkins
as the Blue Jays defeated visiting Franklin & Marshall, 2-1, in
overtime Wednesday afternoon at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays (7-5)
won their fifth straight conference game and improved to 5-1 in the
Centennial Conference (CC). The Diplomats, meanwhile, fell to 6-6
overall and 2-4 in the conference.
At 76:35, Sarah Henderson dribbled up the right touchline,
eluded several Diplomats before cutting in towards the circle.
Henderson sent a pass to Bianco, who was open about five yards from
the game-winning goal. Bianco collected the pass and scored on a
low shot to the right post.
Bianco's first goal of the night came in the 42nd
minute. Ariana Branchini dribbled the ball into the circle and
fired the ball, F&M's keeper Sarah Dileo
stopped the shot, but it bounced Bianco way who fired it home.
The Diplomats tied the game in the 60th minute off a
Val Sauers goal. Sauers fired a hard shot from the top of the
arc that found made it to the inside of the right post.
Kim Stein picked up the win with five saves. Dileo took the
loss, stopping four shots.
The Blue Jays outshot F&M 14-12 and picked up nine corners
to the Diplomats' seven.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Saturday when the
Diplomats travel to Haverford for a 1:00 p.m. game.
