Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall picked up a 3-0
victory over visiting Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC)
volleyball action Wednesday evening. The Diplomats recognized
seniors Pam
Horner and Nicole Morano
who were playing in their second to last regular season home
contest.
Set one started off with both teams trading points at 6-6. The
Diplomats (17-6, 6-2 CC) strung together a 19-5 run, to take the
set 25-11. The second game saw four ties, before F&M
pulled away 19-17. The Diplomats went up 24-18 as the Red Devils
spoiled three set points. Dickinson (5-14, 2-5 CC) came within four
points, before the Diplomats came away with a 25-20 win.
F&M found itself in an early 3-5 hole to start out the third
set. The Diplomats rallied, scoring seven straight points, to go up
10-5. Dickinson countered with a 13-10 run to put the set at
20-18. F&M finished off the set and match with a 25-21
win.
Horner contributed 33 assists to along with seven digs. Kerry Rom and Candice
Tussing picked up eight kills apiece to lead the Diplomats. On
the defensive side, Katy May had nine
digs, while Caitlin
Krutsick and Tussing picked five apiece. Rom added 10 digs for
F&M. Morano finished the evening with seven kills, two digs and
two block assists.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Saturday at
Muhlenberg for a tri-match. The Diplomats will take on the Mules at
11:00 a.m. followed by the Merchant Marines at 1:00 p.m.
