Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Becky Willert
scored two goals to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 4-0 victory
over Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action
Friday evening. The Diplomats are on a two-game winning
streak and improved to 8-7 (4-5 CC). The Mules fell to 2-12 (2-6
CC).
All four of F&M's goals came in a ten-minute span in the first
period. Chelsey
Talhelm got the Diplomats on the board in the eighth minute
when she received a cross from Rachel Cooke for
the score. Four minutes later Willert scored her first goal
of the evening after a penalty corner. Talhelm assisted on the
score.
Eileen
O'Reilly got in the giving spirit, dishing out back-to-back
assists. O'Reilly fed Allison
McLaren who fired it home from point blank range at
15:02. Willert's second tally came at 16:46 when knocked home
a feed from O'Reilly.
The Diplomats outshot Muhlenberg 16-4 and picked up six corners to
the Mules' three.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Tuesday when the
Diplomats travel to York for a 4:00 p.m. start.
