Box Score PALMYRA, Pa. – Jocelyn Novak scored three goals and added
an assist as Lebanon Valley defeated Franklin & Marshall 5-1 in
non-conference field hockey action Wednesday afternoon. The
Dutchmen improved to 10-0 while the Diplomats fell to 6-4.
LVC jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead as Novak scored twice in a 7:23
span. She scored off a two-man break with Caitlin Vasey and again
as Allison Bicher crossed in from the right. Bicher added the third
goal of the game at 42:22.
The Diplomats got on board in the second half off a Becky Willert
goal. Willert received a cross from Eileen O'Reilly in the
54th minute and knocked it home.
Vasey made it a 4-1 LVC lead with a tally in 63rd minute and Novak
scored her final goal three minutes for the 5-1 final.
LVC outshot F&M 23-10 and picked up seven corners to the
Diplomats' four.
Sarah Dileo, under attack all game, picked up 11 saves in absorbing
the loss. Christine Poletti earned the win with five
saves.
The Diplomats will face #5 Ursinus on Saturday at noon.
