LANCASTER, Pa. – Haverford sank six free throws, in the final 50 seconds of the game, to ice a 53-39 win over Franklin & Marshall in a Centennial Conference women's basketball game Saturday.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Diplomats (4-4 overall, 3-2 CC) while the win evened Haverford in the conference at 3-3 (5-4 overall).

Franklin & Marshall was held scoreless in the first 11:50 of the first half as Haverford built an 11-0 lead.  Alexa Barbush put F&M on the board with a layup at the 8:10 mark and Allison Bauer drained a three to make it 14-5 with 7:02 left. The Diplomats added four more points to go into the half down 19-9.

Haverford added to its lead, 38-25, with 7:49 left in the game before F&M went on an 8-0 run. Barbush  sank two free throws, hit a jumper and a layup, and Bauer added a field goal to make it 38-33 with 4:03 left in the game. The Fords went up by eight, 43-35, with 1:19 left before sinking six from the line to ice the game in the final 50 seconds.

Barbush scored a team-high 14 points for F&M with Bauer adding nine. Megan Pauley pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Nina Voith turned in a double-double for Haverford with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Franklin & Marshall returns to the court Dec. 30 hosting Frostburg State at 1 p.m.
