EWING, N.J. -- A year ago, Franklin & Marshall and The College of New Jersey met on the lacrosse field in Lancaster on a Friday night. The Diplomats were ranked third in the nation, while the Lions ranked fourth. The hosts exploded early and took a five-goal lead by the end of the first half before cruising to a relatively easy win.

On this Friday night, the roles were reversed.

No. 3 TCNJ (12-1) scored twice against the No. 4 Diplomats (11-3) in the first two-and-a-half minutes, and pushed the lead to 7-2 by the halftime break on the way to an 11-7 win. Allison Jaeger rolled up a hat trick during the first half burst. She was held off of the scoreboard in the second half.

Hargest tied the Franklin & Marshall record for career points at 320 with a goal and a pair of assists in the loss. She now has 164 goals and 156 assists in her career, matching the total points of Jen Pritchard '09. Hargest needs five points to become the most productive offensive player in Centennial Conference history. Meredith Lussier scored twice and assisted on another F&M goal.

The Diplomats outscored their hosts 5-4 in the second half, but were never able to recover from the opening salvo.

The loss was the Diplomats' second in as many games, marking the first time F&M has lost consecutive games in 114 outings. The last time F&M lost back-to-back games was the 2006 Centennial game title loss to Gettysburg, and an ECAC loss to McDaniel.

Franklin & Marshall will look to correct its course tomorrow afternoon against Haverford in the regular season finale.
