and Eileen
O'Reilly connected twice to lead #17 Franklin & Marshall to
a 4-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) field
hockey action Wednesday evening. O'Reilly's two assist tie her with
Lindsay Mohr '04 on the Diplomats' All-Time assist leader board
with 27.
Willert took an O'Reilly pass from the right side of the cage
and tapped it in for the first goal of the game. The pair teamed up
again in the 24
th minute for a 2-0 Diplomats' (4-0, 1-0
CC) lead.
Valerie Sauers
made it a 3-0 contest with an unassisted tally at 24:38 to cap an
eight-minute, 25-second flurry. O'Reilly found herself on the
receiving end of a
Diana Aulisa
pass from the left wing and knocked in home for the final score of
the evening.
The Diplomats dominated majority of the game, outshooting
McDaniel 21-11. Both teams had eight penalty corners with the Green
Terror (2-3, 1-1 CC) taking seven in the last three minutes of the
game.
Sarah
Dileo (4-0) picked up her fourth win of the year. The senior
keeper stopped four shots in the contest. Stephanie Thomson (2-3)
took the loss with 13 saves.
Franklin & Marshall will travel to William Smith this
weekend. The Diplomats will take on St. Lawrence on Saturday at
4:00 PM and face #19 William Smith on Sunday at 3:00 PM. Both games
will be played at William Smith.
