LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team was
able to hold off a strong start by Lebanon Valley Friday night
rallying from a 1-6 deficit in the first set. Sydney Seydel
started the momentum for the Diplomats with a kill making the score
10-13. From then on, the Diplomats proved to be too powerful for
the Dutchmen winning the match in three straight sets.
In the first set, F&M made the game a nail biter fighting
for every point to get back in good scoring position. Both
teams would exchange points until the Diplomats pulled away ending
the match 26-24. The Dutchmen were able to jump out early in the
second set; however, they could not close out the Diplomats.
F&M regrouped and took control of the game winning 25-19.
In the final set of the match, the Diplomats cruised to
victory ending the game 25-15.
Candice
Tussing paced the offensive attack notching 11 kills. Teammates
Jessica
Poucel and Seydel posted eight kills each.
Pam Horner set
her team up offensively by adding 39 assists for the night and
recording eight digs on defense. On the defensive side,
Kerry Rom posted 14
digs and
Lis Power
added 12.
The Diplomats improve to 10-4 overall. Franklin & Marshall
returns to the court in a double header Saturday afternoon against
Marymount at 11:00 AM and Susquehanna at 1:30 PM.
