Box Score 2 LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's
volleyball team continued its winning streak with a pair of
victories which won the Diplomats the 2010 F&M Scramble
Tournament. F&M extended its winning streak to nine straight
with wins over Marymount, 3-0, and Susquehanna, 3-2, Saturday.
F&M cruised through its first match, sweeping Marymount in
three straight sets. The Diplomats won the first 25-6, took the
second 25-17 and wrapped up the match with a 25-19 third set
victory.
The second game of the day turned out to be the Diplomats toughest
contests in weeks. The Diplomats took the first set 25-23 before
the Susquehanna answered in the second with a 25-22 win. F&M
rebounded, winning the third 25-22, but dropped the fourth 15-25.
The Diplomats rallied in the fifth for a 15-7 victory and the
tournament championship.
Pam Horner led the way for the Diplomats with 56 assists, 25 digs
and four aces on the day. She was rewarded for her performance,
earning Tournament MVP honors.
Sydney Seydel was named to the All-Tournament Team. Seydel had 19
kills and five digs on Saturday. Kerry Rom turned in a great
performance with 13 kills and 22 assists while Nicole Morano
finished with 13 kills and five blocks. Candice Tussing picked up
18 kills over the two matches.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Wednesday when the
Diplomats host conference foe Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m.
