Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Danielle Rosato scored what proved to
be the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke in the 53rd minute to
lead Washington College to a 2-1 victory over Franklin &
Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action.
The Diplomats (5-2, 1-1 CC) took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute off
an Eileen O'Reilly goal. The shot came off a pass in
transition from Allison McLaren. The Shorewomen answered eight
minutes later with a goal by Emily Trees. She was assisted by
Gussie Reilly.
Rosato's goal was a result off a broken penalty corner by
F&M and a trip by Diplomats' keeper Avery Koep.
Shannon Davis stopped eight shots for Washington, earning the win.
Koep made her first start in goal this season, stopping four shots.
Val Sauers added a defensive save for F&M.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Tuesday when the
Diplomats host Gettysburg at 4:30 p.m.
