Diplomats Shutout By Bullets

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer fell 3-0 against Gettysburg in Centennial Conference action Tuesday night. The Bullets were hard to stop after they put a point on the board in the 21st minute off a corner kick. Suzy Englot passed the ball in from the corner and teammate Mallory Sheer used her body to slip the ball past the goalkeeper.

The Diplomats offense kept Gettysburg on their toes taking 10 shots for the night, however, they could not get one past Gettysburg goalie Allie Rivera. Nancy Epstien took three of the ten shots, one of which missed wide from ten yards out in the 31st minute.

The Bullets second goal came in the second half in the 63rd minute from Englot who dribbled through the defense untouched and shot from five yards out. Gettysburg tacked on it's third goal moments later in the 75th minute when Sam Hellerman launched the ball from 30 yards out, barely putting it past goalie Katie Golding.

Rivera had three saves for the night and Golding tacked on seven. The win advances Gettysburg record to 6-3 (2-1 CC), and the loss hands the Diplomats their third loss on the season dropping to 4-3 (1-2 CC).

The Diplomats return to the Tylus Field on October 2nd against Bryn Mawr. Game time is set for 3 PM.
