Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer fell
3-0 against Gettysburg in Centennial Conference action Tuesday
night. The Bullets were hard to stop after they put a point on the
board in the 21st minute off a corner kick. Suzy Englot passed the
ball in from the corner and teammate Mallory Sheer used her body to
slip the ball past the goalkeeper.
The Diplomats offense kept Gettysburg on their toes taking 10
shots for the night, however, they could not get one past
Gettysburg goalie Allie Rivera. Nancy Epstien took three of the ten
shots, one of which missed wide from ten yards out in the 31st
minute.
The Bullets second goal came in the second half in the 63rd
minute from Englot who dribbled through the defense untouched and
shot from five yards out. Gettysburg tacked on it's third goal
moments later in the 75th minute when Sam Hellerman launched the
ball from 30 yards out, barely putting it past goalie Katie
Golding.
Rivera had three saves for the night and Golding tacked on
seven. The win advances Gettysburg record to 6-3 (2-1 CC), and the
loss hands the Diplomats their third loss on the season dropping to
4-3 (1-2 CC).
The Diplomats return to the Tylus Field on October 2nd against
Bryn Mawr. Game time is set for 3 PM.
