Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – Erica Barbuto's goal in the
69th minute secured a 2-1 victory for visiting
Gettysburg in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action
Tuesday evening. Barbuto received a pass from Liz Baron and
found the back of the net for her second goal of the contest.
The Bullets (4-3, 2-0 CC) struck first in the 34
th
minute. Barbuto found the ball after a scramble ensued in
front of the net and knocked it home for a 1-0 Gettysburg lead. #19
Franklin & Marshall (5-3, 1-2 CC) answered in the second
period when Eileen
O'Reilly found
Rachel Cooke for
the one-timer at 44:41. The teams battled over the next 20 minutes,
each firing off quality shots.
The Diplomats outshot Gettysburg 14-6 and picked up four
penalty corners to the Bullets' three.
Sarah
Dileo took the loss and falls to 5-2. Megan Feeg picked up the
win with eight saves.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Saturday against
Bryn Mawr for a 12 noon game.
