Box Score Chestertown, MD - Franklin & Marshall spoiled the home
opener for Washington (Md.) winning three straight sets (31-29,
25-19, 25-19) in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action.
F&M improved to 2-2 while Washington fell to 4-1.
In the opening set, Washington had five set point chances to win
the first, but could not close out the set. With the
Shorewomen leading 29-28, Sydney
Seydel recorded a kill to level the set at
29-29. F&M took the lead at 30-29 on a hitting error by
the Shorewomen.
F&M put the match to rest in the third set as they went on a
19-8 run to take a 24-15 lead. Sydney Seydel dominated
the game with nine kills, two solo blocks, a block assist, and
two digs. Teammate Caitlin Krutsick had 23 assists, three aces, and
nine digs.
The Diplomats look to continue their success at the Rhodes
Tournament against Birmingham Southern on September 10, 4:00
PM.
