Chestertown, Md. – Beth Holt and Alexa Barbush each scored 16 points to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 64-53 win over Washington College in a Centennial Conference (CC) game Wednesday in Chestertown, Md. The Diplomats improved to 4-2 CC, 6-5 overall while the Shorewomen fell to 1-4, 3-7.

F&M trailed just once in the opening stanza, 3-2, but never again in the half after Elizabeth Snyder's layup at the 16:58 mark. Washington made it a one-point game twice in the first half but F&M answered both times and eventually took a 29-26 lead into the half.

Erin Piles' layup at 18:29 in the second half gave the Shorewomen a 30-29 lead before the Diplomats answered with a 10-0 run. Megan Pauley scored four points in the run while Holt, Barbush and Alison Menna each netted two points.

Holt and Barbush shared a game-high in scoring with WC's Kelly Mitchell with 16 points. Barbush went 4-of-10 from the field and 8-for-9 from the line. Holt drained three treys and added six rebounds and five assists.  Snyder pumped in nine points off the bench for F&M and Pauley grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.

Latisha Pledger picked up a double-double for Washington with 11 points and 14 rebounds while teammate Erin Fitzgerald chipped in with 11 points.

Franklin & Marshall returns to the court Saturday in a Centennial Conference game hosting Swarthmore at 6 p.m.
