Box Score LANCASTER, Pa.—For the second straight game, Carley Nicholson scored the lone goal, as Franklin & Marshall defeated Bryn Mawr 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday. The win extends the Diplomats winning streak to four.
Nicholson scored her second goal of the season in the 60th minute, when she came down the right flank, took a cross from Alexa Yarish, and beat the goalkeeper on the far post from about eight yards out.
The Diplomats (4-2-1, 3-1 CC) controlled play throughout the contest, outshooting the Owls (5-3-1, 0-3-1 CC) 11-2 overall, and 7-0 in shots on goal. F&M also held a 6-0 advantage in corners.
Nancy Epstein led the Diplomats with three shots on goal. Nicholson had two, while Brianna Reid and Sarah McGahran had one each.
Amanda McGowan posted her fourth straight shutout without needing to make a save. McGowan improved her record to 4-2-1.
Franklin & Marshall will be back on the field tomorrow, when they make the short trip along Route 30 to take on York College. Game time is 1 p.m.
