Blue Jays Stop Diplomats Streak

Box Score

BALTIMORE, Md.—Erica Suter scored two goals, and Johns Hopkins got all of its scoring in the second half, as the Blue Jays (10-0, 4-0 CC) knocked off Franklin & Marshall 5-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first half, the Blue Jays found the back of the net 2:15 into the second half when Hannah Kronick sent a long ball to Paulina Goodman, who then sidestepped a defender and slid the ball past F&M goalkeeper Amanda McGowan to put JHU on the board.

Kronick made it 2-0 six minutes later on a pass from Suter, which Kronick slid into the open net.  The Blue Jays then put the game away with three goals in a five minute span, including the pair from Suter, and one from Pamela Vranis on a slot pass tucked into the near corner of the net.

The Blue Jays outshot the Diplomats (5-3-1, 3-2 CC) 17-3 overall, and 12-2 in shots on goal.  JHU also held a 5-1 advantage in corners.

Carley Nicholson and Bailey Huber recorded the shots on goal for the Diplomats.  Nancy Epstein also tallied a shot.

F&M returns to action on Sunday when they face Haverford at Tylus Field.  Game time is 5 p.m.
