FORT MYERS, Fla. – Franklin & Marshall posted its second straight shutout with a 5-0 win over Edgewood Tuesday afternoon. F&M improved to 5-4.

The Diplomats put a run on the board in the first inning against when Danielle Murphy reached home on error after singling to lead off the inning. F&M went ahead 2-0 in the third when Malorie Sassaman's single plated Megan Pauley.

The Diplomats added three more runs in the fourth. A Caitlin Brust single scored Samantha Denoville before Pauley singled  up the middle to plate both Brust and Rachel Laufer to give F&M a 5-0 lead.

Pauley finished with three hits and two RBI for F&M while Murphy, Sassaman and Denoville each had two hits. Nicole Casey went the distance striking out eight and scattering six hits for the win.

The Diplomats take on Smith and St. Joseph's Thursday.
