GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Billy Kempner and Tristan Miller scored three goals apiece to lead Franklin & Marshall in a 15-3 thumping of Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday.

The Diplomats (2-1) scored the first four goals of the game before the Griffins (0-2) got on the board early in the second quarter. Miller accounted for half of the opening barrage with Kempner accounting for an assist on his first. He helped out on two more before the game was through.

After Gwynedd Mercy's Nicholas Hummel made it 4-1 on the first of Nicholas Coan's two assists, the Diplomats reeled off the next nine. Kempner struck first early in the second. His unassisted tally stood up as his second game-winning goal of the season. Less than four minutes later, Kempner fed Miller for the hat trick making it 6-1. Miller returned the favor 51 seconds into the second half, feeding Kempner's third, which made it 9-1.

The Diplomats got 39 reserves onto the field in the win. Sophomore, T.J. Tynan, along with freshmen Billy Beutler, Matt Gillan, Chris Kelly and Joe Porchetta all tallied their first collegiate goals. Gillan added in an assist for the cause. Three different keepers saw action. Cameron Setian worked the first 39:44 with six saves and a single goal against. Masis Parseghian played the final 6:02 coming up with four saves. He did not allow any goals. Connor Reymann allowed a pair in 14:14 of play. He was not credited with any stops.

Andrew Setian won six faceoffs to reach 200 career victories on the draw. The 15 goals tied the highwater mark for offense in the Todd Cavallaro era. The 15 goals also mark the third-straight foray into double digits for the Diplomats, the first time that has happened under Coach Cavallaro.

The Diplomats return to action on Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's (Md.).
