Selawski Aces Profs Test

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. – Lauren Selawski scored four goals and assisted on three more to lead #3 Franklin & Marshall to a 13-10 win over Rowan on Wednesday. Her final tally of the day held up as the game winner.

Rowan (1-2) possessed patiently throughout the first half and took a 4-3 lead with 10:43 left in the period on Michelle Lubrano's first goal of the game. The Diplomats' (2-0) Erin Dunne took the ensuing draw and found Selawski parked behind the net. Selaswki fed a cutting Cat Serpe who buried a shot in the lower right side to knot it at 4-4. Anne Brockmeyer won the next draw on a foul. On the restart, she hit Serpe on the right flank for an unopposed run that finished in the lower right corner 25 seconds after her first.

The Diplomats led the rest of the way, largely because Selawski went to work. Serpe's pair sparked an 8-2 run on the Rowan cage that saw Selawski factor on in on four-straight. Her second goal of the day closed the first half of scoring at 8-5 in favor of F&M. She provided a brilliant feed to a cutting Lauren Ehrhardt for the first goal of the second half before turning in another goal of her own less than two minutes later. The sophomore rolled out from behind the cage and buried a left-hander in the top left corner making it 10-5.

Vicky Sucharski streaked down the left side off of the next draw to cut it back to four, but nine seconds later, F&M returned the favor. Ehrhardt found Selawski up the left side off of the Diplomats' draw control running it to 11-6. That goal was the decisive tally.

Rowan outscored F&M 4-2 over the final 13 minutes with three goals coming in the final 4:30. Michelle Lubrano tallied her second of the day on a free position shot with 38 seconds left in the game then finished her hat trick at 59:50. Selawski was a factor on F&M's final goal coming with 1:24 left in the game. Her behind the net feed found Maggie Mae Shields cutting across the crease for her second of the afternoon. Shields also had an assist, ground ball, draw control and turnover in the game.

Delaney wrapped up her afternoon with two goals, three ground balls and a draw control, while fellow captain, Serpe posted two goals, two assists, a ground ball and a draw. Meghan Cohen gathered three ground balls for F&M. Anne Brockmyer controlled six of the 14 draws won by F&M. Alli Dickey and Nicole Valianti each secured three of Rowan's 11 wins on the circle. Dickey, Valianti and Ellen Brigham each scored a pair for the Profs.

Kelsey Hoffman stopped seven shots in her first 60 minutes on Tylus Field.

The Diplomats return to action on Saturday against #20 Stevenson.
