Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 6 Franklin & Marshall put up 16 goals in the first half en route to a 19-5 Centennial Conference (CC) semifinal win over Washington College on Saturday. Erin Dunne and Lauren Ehrhardt did the damage with career highs of seven points apiece, advancing the Diplomats into the league title game for the ninth consecutive season.
Ehrhardt assisted the first goal of the game, setting up Dunne for a quick stick. It was a harbinger of things to come for Washington (11-6). The Diplomats (16-2) had opened up an 8-1 lead 13:11 into the game with Dunne factoring in on half of those goals. She racked up five goals and two assists in the first half to help F&M to a 16-4 lead at the break. Ehrhardt had six of her seven points in the first half. She recorded her fourth and final assist on F&M's second goal of the second half to complement her hat trick.
Dunne played defense for the bulk of the second half as the Diplomats drained the bench. Every dressed player saw significant minutes, including goalkeeper Rebecca Rosen, who worked the second 30 stopping four shots. F&M had 11 different players score and outshot Washington 32-12.
In addition the 14 points from Ehrhardt and Dunne, the Diplomats got two goals from Paige Burns and Katie Delaney. Caroline Krohn and Cat Serpe each recorded a goal and an assist.
Washington got goals from five different players, including Kalli Parrish, who registered the lone Shoremwomen assist.
The Diplomats will face either Gettysburg or Ursinus in the Centennial Conference Championship Final tomorrow on Tylus Field. If it is Gettysburg, it would be the ninth year the two teams have met in the final tilt. The Diplomats have taken the last four.
