Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Nancy Epstein scored in the 57th minute, leading Franklin & Marshall to a 1-0 victory over Ursinus in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on a rainy Friday night.
The Diplomats (2-2-1, 2-1 CC) made the most of their opportunities, culminating with Epstein's goal, her first of the season. Carley Nicholson added two shots on goal for F&M, as the Diplomats outshot the Bears (2-6, 0-3 CC) 4-3 overall, and 3-2 in shots on goal. The Bears held a 7-2 advantage in corners.
Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda McGowan made two saves to post her second straight shutout, and third of the season, improving her record to 2-2-1. Kara DiJoseph took the loss for the Bears, falling to 1-6 on the year.
Franklin & Marshall will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, when the Diplomats travel to Reading to take on Penn State Berks. Game time is 4 p.m.
