ASTON, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team defeated Neumann 3-1 before dropping Rowan 3-0 in non-conference action Saturday at the Knight's Fall Classic in Aston, Pa.  The pair of victories bring the Diplomats record to 14-12, 6-1 CC.  Neumann drops to 14-8 with the loss, while Rowan falls to 18-8.

In the first match of the afternoon, F&M battled the Knights in the opening set before dropping the frame 25-22.  Down 1-0, the Diplomats fought back to tie the match 1-1 with a 25-19 victory in the second set. 

Neumann kept the third frame close before F&M was able to pull away with the 25-23 win and take the 2-1 lead in the match.  In the fourth, the Diplomats cruised to a 25-11 victory, taking the contest 3-1.

Candice Tussing led the offense with 19 kills, while Sydney Seydel added 10 of her own.  Caroline Hubbard recorded 32 assists.  Alyssa Sanchez paced the defense with 17 digs.

Against Rowan, F&M got off to a torrid start, taking the first set 25-18.  The Profs fought to keep the second set close, but the Diplomats pulled away with a 25-22 victory to take the 2-0 lead in the match.  In the third, F&M finished out Rowan with a 25-21 win to sweep the match.

Tussing paced the offense with seven kills, while Hubbard added 30 assists.  Caitlin Krutsick and Sanchez led the defense with 12 digs apiece.

The Diplomats return to the court next Saturday for a double-header at the Mayser Center. F&M takes on Washington in Centennial Conference (CC) action at 11:00 a.m. before facing off against non-conference opponent St. Mary's (Md.) at 3:00 p.m.
