LANCASTER, Pa. - No. 9 Franklin & Marshall continued its winning streak with a 7-0 victory over previously undefeated Swarthmore to open up Centennial Conference (CC) play on Saturday at Tylus Field.   The Diplomats cruised to their fourth-straight victory to bring their record to 4-1 on the season, while the Garnet drop to 5-1.

Kristen Zublin was an offensive force for F&M, scoring three goals on five shots.  The senior forward now has a team-leading six goals on the season, and has scored in four straight games.  Four other diplomats joined in on the scoring effort as Katie Cecere, Audrey Buckman, Chelsey Talhelm and Steph McDonald added a goal apiece.

Zublin opened up the scoring for F&M in the first half, registering goals at the 17^th and 23^rd minutes.  Her first score of the day came unassisted, off of a rebound in front of the net.  Six minutes later, Zublin tipped in a cross from Dana Venditti for her second goal of the contest.

Up 2-0 heading into the second half, the Diplomats continued to pour it on after McDonald scored off a penalty corner at the 40-minute mark of the second half.  Comfortably up 3-0, F&M added to its advantage with three unassisted goals, including Zublin's third of the afternoon at the 43^rd minute.  Buckman capped off the day when she deflected a strike from McDonald off a penalty corner to put the Diplomats up 7-0.

F&M outshot Swarthmore 18-5 and held a 13-8 edge in penalty corners.  The defense was solid all day for the Diplomats as goalkeeper Avery Koep only had to face one shot on net.  The seven goals is a season high for F&M.

The Diplomats take to the road this Wednesday against McDaniel in CC action.  The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
