BRYN MAWR, Pa. - No. 9 Franklin & Marshall won its eighth straight game with a 3-0 shutout over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday. The Diplomats improve to 8-1, 4-0 CC, while the Owls fall to 5-4, 0-3 CC.

The Diplomats first struck paydirt in the 18th minute on an own goal from the Owls. Katie Cecere added the second F&M tally of the opening stanza in the 27th minute. Meghan Barlow fed Cecere for her fifth score of the year to give the Diplomats 2-0 edge heading into halftime.

Steph McDonald made it a three-goal cushion in the 44th minute off an assist from Dana Venditti. McDonald, a defender, has now found the back of the cage five times this season.

F&M outshot the Owls by a commanding 15-7 margin and also held a 15-7 edge in penalty corners.

Goalkeeper Allie Morey (2-0) posted four saves to earn her first shutout win of the year. The Owls' Faith Westdorp totaled eight stops in the loss.

The Diplomats are back in action at home on Wednesday against Johns Hopkins at 7:30 p.m.
