Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. -- Matt Porter and Jon Salandra combined for 33 points to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 76-58 victory over Ursinus in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The victory is the 10th-straight for F&M over Ursinus as the Diplomats improved to 15-5, 10-3 and the Bears dropped to 7-13, 5-8 CC.
Porter finished with a game-high 18 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the floor. Salandra tallied 15 points and pulled down a game-best 12 boards for his fifth double-double of the season, while Hayk Gyokchyan and Brandon Beckford both finished with nine points with Gyokchyan collecting seven rebounds.
Gordon Rogo chipped in 10 off the bench and Cedric Moune shot 6-for-6 from the stripe to finish with eight points and eight boards.
Jon Ward led the Bears with 14 points and Kevin Janowski finished 10 points.
F&M started out with an early 10-4 lead five minutes into the contest before Ursinus tallied six-straight to go up one, 11-10 at 13:02. The lead was short-lived when Salandra kicked off a 14-1 run that spanned over eight minutes and gave the Diplomats a 24-12 edge with 5:29 left to intermission. F&M maintained a strong lead over the final five minutes and went into the break leading 35-23.
The second half didn't get an better for the Bears as F&M went up 21 points four minutes into the half with nine unanswered points. The Diplomats maintained a double-digit lead the remainder of the game and countered any Ursinus run to pick up the win.
F&M forced 13 turnovers that resulted with 14 points. The Diplomats held a commanding 43-32 advantage on the glass, including a 17-8 margin on the offensive side, that led to 17 second chance points.
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats host Muhlenberg at 3:00 p.m.
