Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team wrapped up its 2013 season on Saturday afternoon at Tylus Field, falling to No. 7 Johns Hopkins 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) action.
The Diplomats ended the year at 5-9-3, 3-5-2 CC, while the Blue Jays improved to 16-1-1, 9-0-1 CC.
Hopkins got the scoring started at the 31st minute in the opening half when Hannah Kronick dropped off a pass to Sydney Teng, who slipped behind the F&M defense and fired a shot to the right side of the net for the 1-0 lead.
In the second, the Blue Jays struck again when Pamela Vranis picked off a Diplomats' pass from 25 yards out and drove to the net, setting up for a shot from five-feet out and launching a ball into the back of the net.
Up 2-0 with only nine minutes remaining in the contest, Kelly Baker netted an unassisted goal for Hopkins to seal the 3-0 win.
F&M goalkeeper Amanda McGowan (5-7-3) wrapped up her illustrious career in net for the Diplomats, registering six saves on the afternoon.
Kelly Leddy (15-1-1) earned the victory for the Blue Jays after stopping the only shot she faced. Hopkins led on shots at 16-1, and corners at 7-0.
All of the Diplomats' six seniors (McGowan, Allyson Reid, Kelley Lang, Stephanie Bartner, Selena Boro and Nancy Epstein) saw action in the contest, with Bartner recording a shot in the opening half.
