Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – Four Diplomats reached double figures in scoring as Franklin & Marshall cruised to a 72-54 victory over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The Diplomats finished out their season with an 8-17, 5-15 CC record while the Red Devils fell to 13-11, 9-11 CC.
Alexa Barbush closed out her illustrious F&M career with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Fellow seniors Elizabeth Snyder and Colleen Bott reached double-figures as well with 15 and 11 respectively.
Early in the first and down by seven at 12-5, the Diplomats charged out in front with a 9-2 run to tie the game at 14-14 with 8:29 remaining in the half.
Later in the first, F&M had a one-point advantage at 25-24 with 2:54 left when the Diplomats scored seven unanswered to pull ahead 32-24.
In the second half F&M extended its lead to 17 off of an 8-2 run that made the score 52-35 with 11:13 to go. Dickinson failed to pull within more than 14 points for the remainder of the contest as the Diplomats finished out their season strong with an impressive 72-54 win.
F&M shot 48 percent from the floor on the afternoon, including a 53 percent clip in the second half. The Red Devils finished the game with a 42 percent margin, but shot only 34 percent in the second.
Thirty of the Diplomats' points came in the paint compared to 24 from Dickinson. F&M picked up 14 turnovers on the contest and converted them into 18 points.
Kristina McCarthy filled out the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds and tied a career-high with five blocks. Emma Lisle scored 11 and hauled in six boards.
Belma Mekic paced the Red Devils' offense with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting. Bridget Borgese and Lindsay Finnerty reached double-digits as well, registering 10 points apiece.
