ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Brittney Jorgenson scored four goals and six other Diplomats finished with a pair of goals as No. 8 Franklin & Marshall cruised to a 19-5 victory over Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action. 

F&M (5-1, 1-0 CC) came out strong with three scores in the opening eight minutes. Jorgenson got things started off a feed from Grace Saliba followed by Ali Kelly's goal at 23:40 before Anastasia Mergner capped off the run with an unassisted goal at 22:36. The Mules (4-2, 0-1 CC) made with 3-1 36 seconds later before the Diplomats rattled off three more. 

Maggie Mae Shields, Saliba and Casey Madden all scored in the run and the Mules made it 6-2 off a free position at 18:29. The Diplomats countered with seven unanswered goals over 14 minutes to take a 13-2 lead with 2:05 left to the break. 

Mary Mitchell and Shields hooked up for the first and Jorgenson tallied three in five minutes before Emily Everdell netted one at 8:52. Kimberly Abruzzo scored on a free position shot and Shields finished off the run at 2:05. Muhlenberg put two through in a span of 20 seconds before Mergner struck with just three seconds on the clock to put F&M up 14-4 at the break.

Muhlenberg got its last score of the game three minutes into the second as the Diplomats dominated the final half. Ali Kelly scored at 26:30 with Grace Saliba and Christie Huidekoper tallying scores three minutes apart to give F&M a 17-5 lead at 12:20. Abruzzo struck at 8:44 and Madden buried a feed from Huidekoper for the final tally of the game. 

Jen Noon caused two turnovers with four groundballs and Mergner came away with four draws. 

Kelsey Hoffman took the win in the net with three saves and Kaitlin Hardt also picked up three saves in the second period. 

F&M outshot Muhlenberg 32-14, went 14-for-14 in clears and picked up 19 groundballs to the Mules' nine. 

The Diplomats return to action tomorrow when F&M hosts No. 2 Salisbury at 1:00 p.m.
