AMHERST, Mass. – The No. 13 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team went 1-1 on day two of the Amherst Round Robin on Saturday. The Diplomats opened the day by falling to No. 9 Columbia by a 9-0 score before rebounding with a 6-3 victory over No. 22 Wesleyan (Conn.) to move their record to 3-6 on the year.

After suffering a sweep earlier in the day to Columbia, F&M came out strong against Wesleyan as Emily Caldwell held down the No. 1 spot with a dominant three-game sweep (11-4, 11-3, 11-6). Dulakshi Elikewela followed with a sweep of her own at No. 2, taking down Lauren Nelson by a 13-11, 11-4, 11-5 margin.

Wesleyan took both matchups at No. 3 and 4, however the middle of F&M's lineup each came up with big wins to hand the contest to the Diplomats. Katherine Perry (No. 5) survived an 11-6, 11-13, 11-8, 11-7 match, while Jazmin Matos earned a marathon victory at No. 6. Behind by a 2-1 score (12-10, 7-11, 9-11), Matos fought back by capturing the final two games (11-5, 11-6) for the win.

Dana Rapisarda also earned a victory, picking up a three-game sweep over Hannah Plon with an 11-8, 11-8, 11-5 score.

F&M wraps up competition tomorrow at the Amherst Round Robin with a matchup against Colby at 8:30 a.m., followed by a meeting with Amherst at 1:00 p.m.
