LANCASTER, Pa. – McDaniel handed Franklin & Marshall a 67-56 setback in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.  The loss snaps F&M eight-game winning streak and brings the Diplomats' record to 10-5, 6-2 CC while the Green Terror improved to 11-4, 6-2 CC. 

McDaniel led 12-4 6:30 into the game and a Devin Figueroa trey a little over minute later brought the Diplomats within five, 14-9 before the Green Terror went on a 10-3 run to lead 24-12 at 8:07. F&M answered with six straight and came within six on a Jon Salandra jumper at 5:22, but McDaniel closed out the half by outscoring F&M 12-5 to go into the break with a 36-23 lead.  

The Diplomats came out of the break strong with a 10-2 spurt to make it a five-point, 38-33, contest. The Green Terror countered with nine unanswered to go up 14, before the Diplomats replied with a 7-0 run to come within seven, 47-40, at 8:13.  

McDaniel outscored F&M 6-1 over the next three minutes to lead 53-41 and Cedric Moune brought F&M within nine, 56-47, with 3:46 left to play. The Green Terror quickly went up in the double-digits and maintained at least a nine-point edge the remainder of the contest.  

Matt Porter shot 6-for-11 from the floor to finish with a game-high 19 points. Salandra ended with 15 points, three steals and two blocks for the Diplomats while Moune added eight and Terrel Phelps handed out six helpers for the Diplomats.  

Andrew Merlo led the way for McDaniel with 18 while Wesley Brooks and Cameron Royster both finished with 13.  

The Green Terror outshot F&M 48-37.5 percent and held a 37-24 advantage on the glass.  

F&M returns to action on Wednesday when the Diplomats host Dickinson at 8:00 p.m.
