NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 18 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team fell to No. 12 Bates by an 8-1 score on Sunday afternoon to close out play at the Yale Round Robin. The Diplomats dropped to 5-10 on the year, while the Bobcats improved to 8-5.
Jazmin Matos (No. 4) captured F&M's lone win on the day, earning a sweep against Lesea Bourke with an 11-8, 11-2, 11-7 score. The Diplomats were unable to pick up a game from there on out as Bates cruised to their victory.
Krista Lancione battled in her opening game at the No. 9 spot but was edged out by a 12-10 margin. The Bobcats' Lauren Williams rolled with 11-4, 11-4 tallies to close out the matchup.
F&M takes to the road on Friday when the Diplomats face off against No. 6 Cornell at 2:00 p.m.
