Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg defeated Franklin & Marshall 54-38 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action Tuesday evening. The Diplomats dropped to 12-6, 8-3 CC while the Bullets improved to 8-10, 6-5 CC.
Gettysburg led early with an 8-4 edge five minutes into the game before the Diplomats went on an 11-5 run to take their largest lead of the game, 15-11, at 8:17 in the first. Gettysburg answered, took the lead for good and went into the break with a 19-18 advantage.
The Bullets continued their run in the second by outscoring F&M 8-5 during the first four minutes of action to go up 27-22. F&M struggled to score the remainder of the second of the half and Gettysburg capitalized and went up double-digits, 40-29, with 7:06 left to play. The Bullets maintained the double-double lead the remainder of the game and led by as many as 17 down the stretch.
Cedric Moune had team-high eight points and finished with eight boards, four steals and two blocks. Jon Salandra pulled down a game-high 14 boards and finished with seven points and Matt Porter ended with seven points and seven rebounds.
Cody Kiefer led the way for Gettysburg with 17, Sango Amoio netted 15 and Sean Gordon finished with 15 points for the Bullets.
F&M looks to bounce back on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Swarthmore for a 3:00 p.m. contest with the Garnet.
