GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall could not overcome a 10-point first-half deficit en route to a 58-41 loss to Gettysburg on Tuesday night in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action. The loss dropped the Diplomats' record to 3-14, 1-9 CC, while the Bullets improved to 11-6, 7-5 CC.

Gettysburg jumped out to a 13-3 advantage as the Bullets held the early lead with 14:26 remaining. However, F&M responded when an Emma Lisle jump shot capped off a 14-4 run over seven minutes of action to tie the game at 17-17 with seven minutes to go.

The Bullets countered and closed out the half on a 12-2 spurt as Gettysburg led 29-19 heading into intermission.

Sam Plunkett led the Diplomats in the first half with five points, while Kristina McCarthy tallied five rebounds.

Gettysburg maintained its double-digit lead throughout the beginning of the second half as the Bullets had a 37-22 advantage with 16:07 left in the contest. F&M came to within 15 at 44-29 with 8:34 to go, but Gettysburg went on a 13-8 run to stretch the lead to 57-37 at 3:18 to put the game out of reach as the Bullets went on to win 58-41.  

McCarthy finished the contest with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Diplomats, while Plunkett and Hannah Rose Nussbaum added seven points.

Gettysburg's Caroline Murphy led all scorers with 21 points, while Alyssa Isler recorded 12. Emily Duggan scored nine points off the bench and brought down nine rebounds. 

The Bullets outrebounded F&M 38-36, while each team dished out 11 assists.

The Diplomats returns home on Thursday when the F&M battle Haverford. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
