ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 18 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team fell to No. 6 Cornell by a 7-0 score on Friday afternoon. The Diplomats' record dropped to 5-11 on the season, while the Big Red improved to 6-2.
Roxanna Mead was competitive in her opening game at No. 1 but fell 11-8 in the frame before dropping her next two by 11-2, 11-1 scores. Jazmin Matos battled at No. 3 but was unable to capture a game in her contest against Cornell's Reut Odinak at No. 3 (11-3, 11-6, 11-6).
The Big Red recorded sweeps in all seven matchups with No. 8 and No. 9 going uncontested.
F&M will look to get back on track tomorrow when the Diplomats travel to take on No. 19 St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y. The match is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start.
