LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall closed out its regular season with two victories, downing Centennial Conference (CC) foe Dickinson by a score of a 3-1 (16-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-14) before defeating Cabrini 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-15) in women's volleyball action on Saturday at the Mayser Center.

The CC victory over the Red Devils secured the Diplomats (18-11, 6-4 CC) a spot in next week's playoffs. Dickinson ended its season at 6-16, 2-8 CC, while the Cavaliers sit at 24-6.

Prior to the start of the match against Cabrini, F&M celebrated senior day by honoring its two-member class of Julie Harvey and Caroline Hubbard.

In the opener against Dickinson, the Red Devils began the first set on an 8-4 run and eventually extended the lead to 15-7. F&M came to within seven at 21-14 after a kill by Sarah Landry, but Dickinson held on for the 25-15 first-set victory and 1-0 lead in the match.

In the second, this time the Diplomats began the set on an 8-4 run, until the Red Devils scored four straight to even the set at 8-8. From there, F&M regained the lead off an 8-1 run at 18-11. Kelsey Morgan finished off the set with two straight aces for the 25-17 set-win and 1-1 tie in the contest.

The third set was close early on with F&M up 8-6. The Diplomats followed with six straight points, including three consecutive service aces from Shae Murphy, to take a commanding 14-6 advantage. F&M took the set at 25-11 to take a 2-1 lead.

The Diplomats began the fourth on fire, jumping out to a 12-4 lead. F&M cruised through the rest of the set, taking it 25-14 and the match 3-1.

Harvey led the Diplomats' offense with 12 kills, while Katie Foreman recorded 11 kills and 11 digs for her first double-double of the season. Hubbard added 34 helpers, while Alyssa Sanchez tallied 14 digs. Murphy finished with five service aces, while F&M notched 14 as a team.

In the nightcap against Cabrini, the first set was tied at 8-8 before the Cavaliers went on an 11-4 run to take a 19-13 lead. Cabrini went on to win the set at 25-20 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The second was close early on as well, with the Diplomats leading 10-7. The teams continued to trade points back-and-forth until F&M opened up an eight point lead off a kill from Cassie Garison, to move the score to 23-15.The Diplomats evened the match at 1-1 off the 25-18 second-set victory.

The third was tied at 13-13 when F&M ended the set on an impressive 12-5 run to give the Diplomats a 2-1 lead in the contest.

F&M dominated the beginning of the fourth, leading 13-7 before increasing the lead to 16-9 off a Harvey kill. The Diplomats took the last set 25-15 to win the match at 3-1.

Harvey led the offense once again, notching 17 kills and a whopping .680 hitting percentage. Ellie Ezekiel had 15 kills, while Hubbard added 44 assists. Sanchez added 21 digs for F&M.
