HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 17 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team rolled to an 8-1 victory against No. 19 Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon at Trinity College. The Diplomats improved to 2-0 on the early season, while the Polar Bears fell to 0-1.

Fiona Murphy played strong at No. 1 with a 3-0 sweep (11-4, 11-3, 11-4), while No. 2 Sherilyn Yang also dominated with a 3-0 win (11-3, 11-4, 11-9). Freshman Lauren Johnston fell in her first game by an 11-8 score but fought back with three straight (11-5, 11-5, 11-4) to pick up the victory. 

Dulakshi Elikewela (11-9, 11-5, 11-8) at No. 4 and Andreina Benedith at No. 5 (11-2, 11-4, 11-4) paced the middle of F&M's order with 3-0 sweeps. Katherine Perry had a solid showing at No. 7 with a 3-1 win (11-7, 4-11, 11-9, 11-6), while Jazmin Matos at No. 8 (11-0, 11-1, 11-5) and Cris Margaret Frias Gonzalez at No. 9 (11-3, 11-4, 11-7) each rolled in a pair sweeps.

F&M competes in its first home contest of the season on Wednesday when the Diplomats welcome No. 13 Drexel to the Mayser Center for a 6:00 p.m. showdown.
